i read an interview with Jean-Baptiste Debains recently in the Age. He is the President of Louis Vuitton for Asia-Pacific. Interesting guy: trilingual; English, French and Italian (he was previously country manager for Louis Vuitton Italy). Former management consultant with ten years at Louis Vuitton.
What he said really caught my eye:
“At a time when others have been downsizing, we have invested in a training program for our staff, teaching them about the history of the brand and the products, to lift the quality of our service.”
It makes good sense to me, and it appears to make good sense to Jean-Baptiste. I am sure it will pay off.
