The Open University has just released its new online community site Platform. It is open to OU students and non OU students (or former students as about 50% of the population must have studied at least one OU programme by now). At first sight it looks terrific. Full of insights, useful -freely given- information and it is a doddle signing up. I have not explored all the levels and all the detail but it is well designed and uses media well. I am definitely going to book mark it.
The OU is also a participant in iTunesU along side a host of prestigious Universities who have given up a wealth of resources for absolutely nothing. It gets very little publicity but is well worth checking out. ITunes U is part of the Apple Store. Check out the menu on the left once you navigate to the Store page.
