Gary Hamel has a new book out called the Future of Management . Jay Cross drew it to my attention and, like him, I am now reading it. It is a radical rethink of management processes and I have found a few delicious quotes:
"You can’t build a company that is fit for the future unless you build an environment fit for human beings" and "You can’t win unless you are able to get te very best out of your people."
"People are more innovative and adaptable than the companies they work for."
But best it looks at dramatic changes in the way human energy is mobilised in companies: the end of the traditional management model. Millions of unhappy, demotivated employees should be saying hurrah to that!
