I engaged my taxi-driver in conversation as we drove at 6.30 am from my hotel to Changi airport in Singapore. ‘What do you do for a living?’, he asked. Always a difficult one, I did my best to explain. He paused for 30 seconds and then said: ‘Aah! I understand, you talk for a living.’ ‘Very good, very good you will be able to work until you are 80.’
I don’t really think that I could have put it any better!
