Economist Debate No 3

The Economist has just launched debate on 3:  Social networking technologies will bring large (positive) changes to educational methods, in and out of the classroom.

Ewan McIntosh from Learning and Teaching Scotland is putting the proposition and Michael Bugeja is putting the case against.  You can read the opening statements here.

Michael never seems to get to the heart of the debate, lingering on advertising and commercial aspirations of the social networking providers, Ewan wrote his piece using social networking technologies. It is like Robert Frost's ice on water.  Michael sees the ice, Ewan looks through it to the deep waters below.
